Catching up with Massachusetts
Standout 2024 Prospect John Kallon

Picture
6'4" Point Guard John Kallon has a lot to prove this season. The 2024 City on a Hill standout is one of the best prospects in Massachusetts. I recently caught up with John and discussed his recruitment, perseverance, and his future. Covid continues to handicap this group of players, but prospects are finding a way to excel.

"It’s been tough playing through the pandemic while also dealing with the passing of my mom. To stay focused I’ve been constantly in the gym working on my craft."

John has been able to preserve through unbelievable hardship but he's starting to find his footing again. He's current averaging 30 points per game this season with City on a Hill.

Recruitment

Naturally, John is catching the eyes of programs because of his unique size at the position and ability to control pace. We discussed what schools have been expressing interest.

"Me and my coach have recently been in contact with UConn, Seton Hall, and Coppin State."

Coppin State recently offered John and that's one of many.

"The schools that are recruiting me like big guards. They also like to play up and down while using ball screens to run their offense"

Kallon's playing style is similar and benefits programs searching for a particular guard to help progress forward toward the ultimate goal.

"I like to playing fast as well. Using ball screens helps on the offensive end especially in the half court."
