Jaden Zimmerman is Set for a Breakout Season
I first saw Jaden last year in the Boro Championship and I was immediately impressed. At the time, he stood 6'3" but played like he was 6'6". He connected on shots from the outside and managed to attack the rim in the half court. In transition, he was a blur and exploited angles to get downhill. Now he's 6'5"and seems to play with poise along with pace. It's going to fun to follow his progress this season.
Tell me about yourself? Why should coaches consider you?
"I’m a strong and humble young man who loves helping others. I try to excel in all ways, I’m a go getter type person. I’m always going to try my best and give my all."
How would you describe your game?
"I’m a long athletic three level scorer who can shoot the ball very well. I can play above the rim and I feel comfortable playing the one while creating for others."
How was your spring/summer? It seemed like there was something going on each week.
"My spring and summer were pretty solid. I had a new experience playing with New Heights Lightning 2024 EYBL team. We traveled to different states to play against the best competition."
How’s recruitment looking?
"My recruitment has been looking good. I have a few D1 college interests. Xavier, Fordham, and Saint Peter’s have been in contact."

"Jaden has been a pleasure to coach since Day 1. Going into his Junior year, I definitely think he's one of the top players in the class of 2024. He plays above the rim, shoots the three ball and can get to any spot on the floor and score especially when we need a basket. He's a great teammate and his leadership will be called upon this season to help us capture another Division and Boro Chip. We will make a strong run for the City Championship with him leading the way." - Coach Rose, Eagle Academy Bronx Head Coach
What did you learn from this spring/summer? What's your biggest takeaway?
"I learned, I need to lock in on my defense and I need to get stronger. I actually just came from the gym lifting and working out."
What are your goals over the next few months?
"I want to continue to gather offers. I want to win every tournament our coach puts us in. I also want to continue to get stronger and work my craft while getting ready for the season."
