Five-Star Prospect Elliot Cadeau Discusses Basketball and Life
2024 five-star prospect, Elliot Cadeau, is known for his maturity on the court but his company 'Elliot Cares' caught my attention. It's very rare that young prospects find the time to host a free camp for the young generation. After speaking with Elliot, I instantly heard an understanding of his role and future expectations, no pressure, just him embracing everything that comes with being a recognizable impact player.
Basketball is the easy part. Elliot has always been a strong rhythm player who controls and speeds up-tempo. As a floor leader, he's been able to assert himself as a playmaker and shot maker. Unlike most young guards he scans the floor to see activity and normally makes the right play. He takes care of the ball and consistently proves he has an advanced Basketball IQ. At the prestigious 'Pangos Camp' he held his own against some of the best players in the country, as one of the youngest prospects in attendance, and this effort carried over to the EYBL circuit with New Heights Lightning.
I was able to catch up with Elliot after practice and the first thing I asked him was what motivates him to be involved with the community?
"What motivates me is that I was them a couple of years ago. I remember that exact moment when I was a young kid. Growing up I wasn't in a basketball family, I didn't have any D1 parents or people around me that knew a lot about basketball. Both of my parents are immigrants so I feel like giving back to kids, especially ones that come from families like mine is very important to me."
How about personally? What keeps Elliot motivated and where do you see yourself in a few years?
"My love for the game keeps me motivated. I love basketball. During my injury, I've noticed basketball is my whole life because it makes me happy, that motivates me. I love working out and being in the gym. In the next few years, I see myself being the best player I can be. I say that to myself a lot. I won't give up on myself. I don't want my potential to just be potential."
I can imagine things are picking up but how's recruitment been going?
"I have a few offers. Schools have reached out, things are going good on that end."
[Official offers: Syracuse, Tennessee. Howard, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, St. John's, Providence, UMass, Seton Hall, TCU, and Siena, source Verbal Commits]
Which schools are working the hardest?
"Schools that have been in contact the most are probably Seton Hall, Tennessee, Syracuse, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State along with others."

What best describes your playing style?
"My best attribute is my (Basketball) IQ. I've been very unselfish on the court which sets me apart from a lot of people. My speed is also there, not many people talk about that, it really helps me on the court."
Elliot recently signed with Roc Nation Sports to assist with NIL (Name, Imagine, Likeness) efforts. His new representation will open unlimited opportunities for the five-star Sophomore. The future is bright.
