2025 Prospect Badara Diakite Continues to Make an Impact

Only a few years ago I drove to Northern Connecticut to check out an open run and a strong source pointed out Badara and explained he was only in the 7th grade. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He wasn't dominant, but his natural tools and ability were present. He stood between 6'7" and 6'9" dripping with potential. Fast forward, he's one of the top 9th graders, not only in Connecticut but the country. A well known championship college coach said "I'll be surprised if he steps foot on a college campus" but Badara has all intentions of going to college down the road. I've evaluated Badara at different events but I was able to catch up with him briefly.
What is your biggest motivation, what keeps you going?
"My parents are my biggest motivation because they push me every day to get better as a player & person. One day, I want to show them that being here was all worth the work."
In the early stages, how are things going with recruitment?
"I would have to say that being in Connecticut has been helpful for local programs. UConn has been to a few of my games. Big 12, PAC-12 and SEC schools have either spoken to my coaches at school (Northwest Catholic), my AAU program (New Heights Lightning), or my guardian."

I've seen your game evolve over the past few years but how would you describe your playing style?
"My playing style is very simple. I make the right play first and score within the flow of the game. I’ve been falling in love with rebounding and everything that comes with trying to help my team win games."
